This review is for the: Amazon Basics Multipurpose Foldable Training/Computer Table - 55 Inches, Wood Surface, Black Desktop with Black Legs - Amazon Product ID: B087CPVBJFFirst, I like the table. It looks good and suits my needs. I'm keeping it, and I'll describe more about this after some warnings you'll want to know, especially if you have kids, large pets, or drunks around the house.Issues/warnings:0: Setup and safety warning - The collapsible legs have light springs and if you're not careful they can snap the legs closed on your fingers. The spring-action isn't mentioned in the manual or product description at the time of this writing. Also,More importantly under the tabletop there's a piece (see image 1) that sticks out and has a rough surface and is sharp enough to break skin by itself with some pressure. While setting up the desk, make even more sure you don't place your fingers between this piece and its counterpart (see image 2). The lightly spring-loaded table legs can snap back over your fingers and this piece can seemingly do a lot of damage. There should have been a warning about this in the manual.I didn't even realize the legs were spring loaded until they snapped back. Nothing mentioned it in the manual and because someone else removed the table from the box I didn't spot this in time. I was quick enough to not break a finger, but I did lose a little skin. Otherwise, setup is quick and easy. You just snap out the legs and level the desk with its adjustable feet. Speaking of leveling...1: Stability and leveling - It's a solid and "sturdy" desk, but make sure the table is level. Use a leveling tool to check. This helps with stability. Seemingly because the table is narrow and the feet are small and round it shakes a little even when fully level and isn't even close to being as stable as my computer desk. It won't just casually tip over, but accidents happen. This table is *solid* and dense (heavy for its size) but stability is something else. In my opinion, it's seems to be a tipover risk if someone's not being careful. Keep this in mind if you have kids, large pets, or drunks around the house. Don't stand on it, and don't lean heavily on the edge! The feet unscrew to help level the table. The adjustable feet helping to level the table isn't a feature specifically mentioned in the manual or the product description, and it should be. It's a normal feature for tables of this type, but not all of them have it, so it should be promoted as a selling point (and so customers know they can level the table this way.)If the table is placed against a wall I suggest using strong nylon strap material to secure it to the wall the way you would a bookcase to keep it from tipping, because it's small and dense/heavy for its size (40.5 lbs according to the product description), and if it falls it can seemingly do some damage.2: Additional safety warning - That same piece I mentioned during setup (see image 1) under the table has a sharp and a pointed edge, and it sticks out under the table. Be careful about this if you're leaning under the table for any reason (to plug a cord in or pick something up), and especially around kids and large pets. Also, if you're using the table as a desk and your chair is high or you're a big person, it might scratch against your thighs. Almost all the other surfaces of the table are well smoothed out, but this one isn't and can be a harm risk. There's a second piece on the legs that also has somewhat sharp edges to be mindful of (see image 2). It's the counterpart to the first sharp piece, but it's more rounded. Still, the exterior round edge seems sharp enough to cause a gash if bumped hard enough. It's also low. I don't think this is baby-safe. I think amazon should have included table leg color-matched rubber covers for both these pieces. Or should redesign them.3: Truth in advertising - The product title says "wood surface" not a "wood-like finish" but the manual says it's actually a Melamine (manufactured wood) finish. I wouldn't call that a "wood surface". Since I ordered the table the website's been updated in the product description to say it's a particle board tabletop which is usually true for melamine tables. Now, I like melamine tables as they tend to be stronger than natural wood so this isn't a problem for me, but the product title and manual should all be more clear about the product. It also doesn't seem to be a thick melamine coat, which for a table with a melamine finish can also be a problem as it may wear down in spots more quickly reducing the table's finish and reduces resistance to staining.4: Table surface condition - Regarding the table surface, it arrived without major damage, but there's some light surface marring (see image 3, that's not lighting or simple stain variation) in spots that can be seen at certain angles which looks like it could be from the factory. It doesn't wipe away with a damp cloth. For my use this won't be a big problem, but it's very mildly disappointing to see, and may be a bigger issue for other buyers. Also, the fake grain of the tabletop come through strongly and can be felt to the touch, which for some may be good, but the protective coating seems too thin and that may be a problem with spills/staining/wear over time, and also bacterial growth which some people might care about. Natural wood resists bacterial growth, but a too-thin melamine coating might not be as effective.5: Table surface color: I ordered the "Black Desktop with Black Legs". The "wood-like" graining has lighter striations that tone the color of the desk making it look a little more dark brownish than black. You can see this in the images Amazon provides of the product but it's more pronounced in person, especially in some lighting conditions such as under soft white LED ceiling bulb lights.5: Packaging - The table was very well packaged in multiple layers of different styrofoam-like material. The table top, legs, and edges were all well protected. However, the styrofoam-like material makes an unholy mess. It leaves a ton of tiny static-clinging bits that have to be vacuumed up. It's not a big problem, but it's a little annoying. I really hate those little static styrofoam bits clinging everywhere. They're not quite as bad as glitter getting everywhere forever, but still.6: Minor frame/legs aesthetic issue - the exterior weld spots (see image 4) affect the aesthetic of the nicely painted metal legs. It's not a huge problem, but these weld spots are a little unsightly. They're nicely smoothed out which is good, and well-painted over, also good, and they're up near the bottom of the tabletop's edge so they're "mostly" out of eyeline, but they're still visible. Some folks with an eye for detail might care more about this than I do.7: Shipping time - It took a long time for Amazon to finally ship the table. I'm not deducting stars for this, and I knew the ETA wasn't solid, but it's something to note.8: Folding the legs closed - The manual doesn't say how to close the legs. I haven't tried, and it casually looks like I'll have to "push" on where the joint mechanism hinges like a ladder (watch your fingers!), but it's not 100% clear and should be detailed in the manual.8: Manual itself - The included paper manual is just paltry and could be a lot more informative about the product. The downloadable .pdf manual could and should be updated since it's easy to change. (I know about all the issues a company has to go through to get product literature updated. That isn't my problem as the consumer. If electronic documents can be updated faster than paper manuals, they should be.)Now for the good:The table arrived in acceptable condition (see issue 4, still really not a big deal) with no significant damage. The table was very easy to set up and seems solidly constructed and looks good. The edges of the tabletop are clean and nicely rounded.I'm glad the feet are adjustable for proper leveling. I like the table overall for the price (I got it on sale for under $100, and it sells normally for about $120 currently) and am keeping it for use as an additional work surface in a small space near my computer desk, which is why its solid build (supports up to 320lbs) and narrow depth are helpful.I like the fact the table legs fold under the tabletop, in case I need to open up a little more space for gaming in VR.Bought this for a home office and OMG I just absolutely LOVE IT!! The piece is very sturdy and looks great in my home office area. I love the fact it will fold up for ease of storage should we ever got back to working in the office. This table is the perfect size for many different uses, and you really can't go wrong with this piece. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!! THANK YOU AMAZON!!!This is as advertised - it's a really nice table, and a great value. The delivery itself was fine, the box damaged but taped heavily. The description said "used, like new" and that there would be some damage to the packaging but the table itself was damaged, noticeably and definitely NOT in like new condition. The table itself us sturdy and fairly heavy/solid and in like new or new condition would have been great. While I got a discount t for it being new, I would never have paid for a table in this condition and would have instead bought a new one. It's too heavy and cumbersome for me to return the package by myself so I'm stuck with a table that is visibly damaged. I would have given this 5 stars otherwise. I recommend buy new or be prepared to maybe have to return it.Great for a side table or credenza in a small apartment. I use it for plants at a window.Opens, folds up surprisingly well for its size..Good finish and got heft to it...Feels sturdyThis is a well made & designed product. Unfortunately, it came with a ding in the top of table. There was no damage to the shipping box so this was there when it was packaged at the factory. It was purchased for an older woman and it is not possible at this point to return it for a replacement. Very disappointing. I would have given it 5 stars but now don't trust the company. This was the easiest piece of furniture to set up in my home office. I literally only had to snap it open.It is the perfect height and width and met my expectations.
